What is a Chamber of Commerce?

A Chamber of Commerce is a coalition of area businesses, industries, organizations, and professionals who pool their talents and resources to improve the economic, civic and cultural climate of their community.

The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and Industry has provided support for the business community since 1934. The Chamber offers networking, educational and marketing opportunities, business resources and mailing lists, and government advocacy to protect and advance the interest of business.

Who are the Members of the Chamber?

The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce is made up of over 600 members from Des Plaines and the surrounding area.  Our membership ranges from single-person businesses to corporations with thousands of employees. We have members who have just started their businesses and members who have been in business for more than 80 years.

How much does it cost to join the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce?

Chamber membership is based on the number of employees with membership starting at $275.00 for businesses with up to 4 employees. Please contact the Chamber at 847-824-4200 for more information.

May I attend Chamber functions as a non-member?

Businesses that are interested in learning more about the Des Plaines Chamber are welcome to attend two Members Only events before joining the Chamber.

Some events are open to the public, including our Legislative Breakfast, Careen Fair and Multi-Chamber events.

Why should I join the Chamber?

Now, more than ever, building solid relationships in the community is vital to sustaining and growing your business. The Chamber provides a variety of ways for you to meet new contacts and gain business leads at our monthly events.

By participating in Multi-Chamber events, throughout the year, our members also have the opportunity to make contacts with businesses throughout the Northwest Suburbs.  The Chamber also acts as a referral service for the businesses and residents of our community.

Are Chamber dues tax deductible?

Membership dues are deductible for federal income tax purposes as a business expense.
